Three Mile Island Nuclear Disaster: March 28 1979

On March 28, 1979, a dangerous, potentially fatal event occurred at the nuclear reactor at Three Mile Island,Pennsylvania. Mechanical failure combined with subsequent human error and cover-up. Since the Three Mile Island disaster, no new nuclear plants have been ordered in the U.S.
